The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is one of the most popular destinations in the Grand Strand area.

Built in 2011, the SkyWheel stands over 187 feet tall—that's 20 stories! When it opened, it was the 2nd tallest wheel in the United States east of the Mississippi River. Currently, it is the 6th-tallest wheel in America.

Is the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel Worth Checking Out?

The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel is beloved by both tourists and locals alike. Below you'll find a few popular reviews of what the SkyWheel has to offer...

"20 Dollars for a stellar and unique view up and down the beach. If you are scared of heights, the initial loading phase can be a bit unnerving as you sit in your air-conditioned gondola just waiting. However, once it gets going, you get 4 full rotations and soon forget about anything but the view."

"Unlike carnival Ferris wheels, they don't swing or rock much, and you are completely enclosed from the elements. All the staff were quick and professional, and your ride is private with your group only, which is very nice. Overall, they advertise a lovely view on the beach, and they deliver. No notes."

"The SkyWheel was fun. We had a nice view of the ocean and the restaurants and shops in the area. We only chose to ride once, but for only five dollars more, you could have unlimited rides (might have done that when our kids were younger). If you like riding these types of things (we have ridden the London Eye and others), then I recommend it."

"Looked really fun, but I am cautious of heights. We took the ride and had a really fun time. You are up really high, but I enjoyed every minute. Smooth, comfortable cars with air conditioning. The ride moved at a slow pace. It stopped several times with us on top, and the view was amazing. Definitely worth the experience."
